ST. PAUL, Minn. - For the third time this Fall season, football player
Drew Shipley and volleyball player
Morgan Miller received Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Week nods in their respective sports.
Shipley earns the honor for his work on defense for the first time after achieving two recognitions for his work as a punter. In last Saturday's home game against MacMurray, the sophomore linebackers tallied 17 tackles and picked off two Highlander passes. He leads all UMAC defenders in total tackles in both conference (67) and all games (80). He was also his usually dominant self as a punter as four of his eight punts landed inside the opponents' 20.
For Miller, this is her second UMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor and she holds an Offensive Player of the Week nod as well. It was a great all-around effort for the sophomore middle blocker in three matches last week. She collected 18 total blocks, adding to her UMAC-leading total of 100. Offensively she added 32 kills and five digs.
