ST. PETER, Minn. - The Minnesota Morris men's and women's track and field teams are were one of 12 NCAA Division II and III institutions to take part at the Lee Krough Invitiational Saturday at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.
Like last Saturday,
Chalmer Combellick was able to claim a first place performance as he had the fastest time in the 800 meters at 1:56.47.
Five other Cougar men had top five finishes in their respective races.
Cole Kvistero had a pair of high places as he took third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.99 and he placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.87m (38-11.50).
Matthew Kingland had a third place height in the high jump at 1.75m (5-07.75).
David Roanhorse came in fourth place in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:50.06. Behind him was teammate
Tyler Sassenberg who had a time of 16:53.60. Mack Ferguson had a fifth place throw in the javelin at 39.22m (128-08).
Results
For the women,
Hannah Goemann continued her dominance in the 800 meters as she set a new school record in the event with a time of 2:16.21. She defeated 23 NCAA Division II runners in the race.
Carly Denler tied her own school record with a second place height in the pole vault at 3.31m (10-10.25).
Emily Ciesynski's time of 1:06.01 was good for fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles.
The Cougars are back on the track next Saturday at the Holst Invite hosted by Concordia-St. Paul.
