COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - The Minnesota Morris men's and women's track and field teams competed Saturday at the CSB/SJU Outdoor Invite in Collegeville and two distance runners recorded first place times.
In the 1500 meters, both
Chalmer Combellick and
Hannah Goemann clocked the fastest times in their respective races. Combellick's time of 4:01.55 was the best of 56 runners in his field while Goemann ran the fastest of 36 runners in her field with a time of 4:44.18.
Also in the 1500 meters,
Katherine Novak clocked a sixth place of 5:06.54.
Three other Cougar women had top five performances.
Carly Denler had a second place height in the pole vault at 10-feet, 8-inches (3.25m). Having a third place distance in the triple jump was
Molly McGrath who had a length of 34-feet, 2-inches (10.41m).
Emily Ciesynski's time of 67.98 was good for fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles.
Women's results
Three Cougar men joined Combellick with top six finishes. Rob Reller's height of 5-feet, 8 3/4-inches (1.75) was good for fourth place in the high jump. Mack Ferguson had a fifth place distance in the javelin at 151-feet, 2-inches (46.08) and
Shamund Gordon's leap of 40-feet, 7-inches (12.39m) in the triple jump was good for sixth place.
Men's results
The track teams are back in action Saturday at the Lee Krough Invite in St. Peter.
