On the Road Again
For the third time this season, the Cougar men and women hit the road for a double header. Tonight (Nov. 30), they will be in Mayville, N.D. as the Cougars take on the Mayville State Comets. The women will begin the evening's action with a 5:30 p.m. tip-off, with the men set to follow right after at 7:30 p.m.
The Records
The Cougar women enter at 2-2, with a 1-1 record on the road, while the Comet women are 0-5, with a 0-2 record at home. The Cougar men also sit at 2-2 on the season, while holding a 2-1 mark on the road. The Comet men are 3-3 on the season, having lived at home where they hold a 3-2 mark. 
The Streaks
The Cougar women have currently lost two in a row, after opening the season 0-2, while the Comets have lost all five contests this season. The UMM men have also lost their last two, while the Mayville State men are mired in a three-game losing streak.
Last Season
These two schools met on the hardwood a combined four times last season, two each for the men and the women. The Cougar women finished the season series 2-0 against the Comets, opening the season on Nov. 17 with a 96-89 win in Mayville, before winning just two weeks later at home with a 66-55 victory on Jim Gremmels Court on Dec. 1. The men split with the Comets last season with each team winning on the road. First, on Nov. 19, the Cougars went on the road to score an 86-79 win, but the Comets repaid the favor on Dec. 1 with a 73-62 win on Jim Gremmels Court.
Last Time Out
Last week the Cougars hit the court just once, hosting Jamestown on Nov. 23. It was a rough night for the maroon and gold as the women fell 71-65, and the men dropped a 74-51 decision to the Jimmies. The Comet women were off from competition last week and have not played since a loss to Minnesota, Crookston on Nov. 19, while the men dropped a pair of games last week, losing 78-76 to Minnesota, Crookston and 74-68 to Northern State.

Women
Led by sixth-year head coach Dennis Hutter … 0-5 with each loss by double-digits … twice have allowed over 100 points … have allowed at least 81 points in every game … have not played since Nov. 19 … have yet to play a NCAA Division III opponent this season, having played three NAIA teams and two NCAA Division II teams … led in scoring by Eli Coseme-Gonzalez at 24.8 ppg … Haliey Longtin (14.0) and Laura Taylor (10.8) each also average double figures … Kira DeMorales is the leader on the boards at 6.0 rpg … Longtin is a threat from the outside, hitting 16-of-32 three-pointers in the season.
Men
Led by sixth-year head coach Justin Johnson … led Mayville State to the NAIA National Championship game in the 2006-07 season … opened season with five straight home games, before playing first road game last weekend … opened season with three straight wins, before losing three straight to NCAA Division II teams … have yet to play a NCAA Division III team this season … scored at least 94 points in each their three wins, but scored no more than  76 in each of their three losses … led in scoring by Shavontae Samuels at better than 20 ppg, while Wiley Jiles, Ross Aman and Adam Edwards also average better that 10 ppg … Aman is the leader in the boards at nearly 10 rpg.
