This Time, On Our Court
The Cougars welcome Mayville State to Jim Gremmels Court , with a little revenge on their minds. Both the men and the women suffered tough losses when the teams previously met this season, in Mayville. The Cougars and Comets are set to tip-off the second time around at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 10. The women are up first, with the met set to follow at 7:30 p.m.

The Records
The Cougar women enter at 3-4, with a 2-1 record at home, while the Comet women are 2-5, with a 0-3 mark on the road. The Cougar men also sit at 2-5 on the season, while holding a 0-2 mark on Jim Gremmels Court. The Comet men are 4-4 on the season, and in just one road game, are 0-1 away from home.

Season of Giving
As we celebrate another season of Holidays, the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) would like us all to take a moment to remember those less fortunate. To help out those in need, SAAC will be collecting non-perishable food items at the door before and during the games. Everyone who brings a food item will receive free popcorn at the game. Cash donations are also accepted, and all donations will go to help the local food shelf.

Get Back on the Right Track
The Cougars will be looking to get back in the win column, as a tough early season schedule has taken its toll. Both the Cougar men and women started the season 2-0 but have struggled since, facing a loaded schedule of Division II and NAIA teams. Jim Gremmels Court has been good to the women, as they are 2-1, but the men are still looking for their first home win, as they sit currently at 0-2.

The Streaks
The Cougar women lost their last time out, after a win the game before snapped a three-game losing skid. The Cougar men are currently suffering through a five-game losing skid, dating back to Nov. 20. The Comet women meanwhile have won two straight, after opening the season with five straight losses, while the Mayville State men lost their last time out, following their win over UMM.

Last Match-Up
These two teams met just 10 days ago, with the Cougars on the road in Mayville, N.D. It was a rough night for UMM as the Cougar women dropped a 78-68 decision and the men fell 88-82 in overtime. The women actually out-shot the Comets, beating them by eight percentage points from the floor. The difference, however, was the 12 more shots taken by the Comets, as well as the 10-rebound edge by MSU.

The men battled back in the second half to earn the tie, only to see Mayville State hit 8-of-10 shots in overtime on their way 20 points for the win.

Last Season
These two schools met on the hardwood a combined four times last season, two each for the men and the women. The Cougar women finished the season series 2-0 against the Comets, opening the season on Nov. 17 with a 96-89 win in Mayville, before winning just two weeks later at home with a 66-55 victory on Jim Gremmels Court on Dec. 1. The men split with the Comets last season with each team winning on the road. First, on Nov. 19, the Cougars went on the road to score an 86-79 win, but the Comets repaid the favor on Dec. 1 with a 73-62 win on Jim Gremmels Court.

Last Time Out
Earlier this week, UMM was on the road to take on Jamestown, a team that had already beaten each of the Cougar squads at home on the season. The second time around, the women fell 80-46, and the men lost 72-51. The women struggled through one of their worst shooting nights of the year, while Jamestown nailed 15 three-pointers in the game for the win. The men had similar struggles, as the Jimmies broke it open early and controlled the game.
