Women's Basketball Travels to Dakota State

In wrapping up the fall semester, the Minnesota Morris women's basketball team closes out December at Dakota State. The Cougars and Trojans tip-off at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 16.

The last time these two teams met the Cougars came away with a 71-63 in last season's home opener. The Cougars outshot and out-rebounded the Trojans, on their way to a 31-26 halftime lead, before opening up the lead to as much as 18 points in the second.

The Records: The Cougars enter at 3-4 on the season, coming off a win their last time out, while Dakota State brings with them a 3-7 record, having lost their last two.

Storyline: The Cougars are looking to get to the .500 mark at 4-4 before the semester break, as well as win back-to-back games for the first time this season.
 
About the Trojans | Stats: After a win in the season opener, have went just 2-7 since, with just one win over their last five games … last win was in overtime against Mayville State … two of three wins have come in four home games … have scored more than 67 points just twice … have been outscored by an average of eight points per game … two players average double-figures with Julie Monson at 11.6 and Kylie Westover at 11.3 … Westover has also made a team high 19 three-pointers … one of the top rebounding teams in the country, they average 41.3 boards per game.

About the Cougars | Stats: Broke a three-game losing streak with their win over Mayville State their last time out … have yet to win a true road game this season, winning twice at home and once at a neutral location … have been out-scored by three points per game … have hit just .630 at the free throw line with a high game of .741 … Emily Mehr (15.0) and Kendra Wycoff (10.6) are each averaging double figures … five different players have led in scoring in seven games … including a career high 15 from Allie Sannes the last time out … second highest scoring team in the UMAC at 67.4 ppg … leading shooting team in the UMAC at 40% from the field.
