Box Score MAYVILLE, N.D. – The Cougars (1-3) and Mayville State (7-1) battled into the night giving fans ten minutes of free basketball on Tuesday night. After tying the game near the end of regulation the Cougars came up short in the second overtime.

Emily Mehr had a career high 35 points before fouling out in the first overtime. Mehr was 12-18 from the field including 6-9 from three point range and 5-5 from the foul line. Mehr hit the shot with 1.2 second left in the game to force overtime.
Kendra Wycoff had 27 points also setting a career high, hitting seven three pointers. Kayla Kramer had 13 points and
Abby Fragodt had 10 points. The Cougars were 17-19 from the foul line in the game and shot 47.9% from the field.
UMM trailed by eight points with just two minutes left in regulation before battling back to tie it on Mehr's jumper. The Comets and Cougars battled back and forth in the first overtime UMM had a chance to win on the final possession of overtime number one but the shot came up short.
In the second overtime the Cougars trailed by one before the Comets were able to convert after their second offensive board on their possession. The Cougars drew within two at 101-99 but the Comets hit a pair of free throws with six seconds left securing the win.
Minnesota Morris is back in action tonight taking on Presentation at 5:30 p.m.
