Box Score ASHLAND, Wis. – The Minnesota Morris (5-7, 2-1 UMAC) got double digit scoring from
RJ Dean,
Tyler Pendleton,
Steve Birman and
Evan Reller on Saturday beating Northland (0-11, 0-3 UMAC) 73-58. Dean and Pendleton tied for the team high with 14 points. Morris turned the ball over just ten times, their second lowest total of the season.
The first six minutes of action were back and forth, the Cougars led by just one at 12-11. The Cougars gained separation using a 13-4 run in the middle of the half to take a 25-15 lead. The Lumberjacks never got closer than seven for the remainder of the half and UMM went into the break with a 36-27 lead.
Northland cut the lead to six early on in the second half but Morris fought back led by as much as 16 win 7:45 left in the game. The Lumberjacks were never able to recover and could not get any closer than 13 the rest of the game.
The Cougars are back at home next Saturday as they host Northwestern at 7:30 p.m.
