Eagles, Rams Invade P.E. Center

MORRIS, Minn. – After going 2-1 in the opening week of UMAC play the Cougars (5-7, 2-1 UMAC) is back at home to host Northwestern (9-5, 2-1 UMAC) and North Central (7-6, 2-1 UMAC). UMM and Northwestern will play on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and then North Central on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. WATCH LIVE
 
All three teams are tied for second in the UMAC with Bethany Lutheran at 2-1.  After this week there could be separation as the Cougars gun for a pair of UMAC wins.
 
Northwestern lost a close matchup with Bethany Lutheran last weekend at home after starting the UMAC schedule with wins over North Central University and Martin Luther. The Eagles have four scorers in double figures, led by Wade Chitwood with 16 points per game.
 
As a team NWC is averaging 77 points per game and hits almost ten three pointers per game. As a team they shoot 45.1% from the field and 39.2% from three point range. They also take care of the ball, averaging just 12 turnovers per game.
 
North Central is coming off back to back wins including a 74-73 win over Martin Luther last weekend. Nathan Roeder is leading the UMAC with 24.5 points per game and shoots 47.8% from the field. The Rams do most of their damage inside the three point arc and get to the foul line 25 times per game.
 
NCU is averaging 80.6 points per game and 86.7 in UMAC games. The Rams also have two players averaging 14 points per game and one averaging 12.
