Cougars Take Aim at Storm

MORRIS, Minn. – As the Minnesota Morris Cougars (7-10, 3-4 UMAC begin their second trip through UMAC, they do so in a huge way, batting Crown (8-10, 3-4 UMAC) on Tuesday night. The winner will remain in a tie for fourth place or gain possession of fourth place alone, depending on the outcome of St. Scholastica and Northland also tonightat7:30 p.m.  LIVE STATS | WATCH LIVE
 
The Cougars have two of their last three games and earlier this year defeated the Storm 86-62 behind 27 points from Steve Birman. The Cougars will face one of the best big men in the UMAC as they go up against two time defending Player of the Week Anthony DiLoreto. Last meeting DiLoreto had 19 points but was more effective in the first half.
 
Minnesota Morris outscored Crown 40-22 in the paint and 32-9 in points off turnovers. The Cougars turned the Storm over 17 times in the game. Morris also had 30 points off the bench in the win.
 
Over the last six games the Cougars have had extremely balanced scoring, having at least three scorers with at least 10 points in each game.
 
This weekend the Cougars will travel to take on the top teams in the UMAC as they take on North Central and Northwestern. Friday the Cougars will take on North Central at 7:30 p.m. followed by a rematch with Northwestern on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
