Turnovers Key Victory Over Storm

Box Score SAINT BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The winnings streak is now at nine as the Cougars (11-7, 8-0 UMAC) pulled away for a 77-34 win over Crown (2-13, 0-8 UMAC) on Tuesday night. Minnesota Morris forced 28 turnovers which turned into 38 points in the game. Kendra Wycoff led all scorers with 22 points.
 
The Cougars held Crown to just 21.3% from the field, on 10-37 shooting in the game. Morris shot 42.1% in the game as they were 32-76 on the night. The Cougars held the advantage in points in the pain, 28-4, and second chance points, 20-4.
 
Emily Mehr had 14 points and Kelsey Erickson had 12 as three Cougars had double digits on the night. Minnesota Morris also had an 18-9 assist to turnover ratio, led by Abby Fragodt who had five assists. Fragodt also had seven rebounds, six points, four blocks and two steals.
 
Morris opened up a 43-16 lead in the first half and followed that up by outscoring the Storm 34-18 in the second half. The lead would grow to as large as 48 late in the second half. UMM used a 27-7 run in the first half to gain control of the game and never looked back.
 
The Cougars will be back on the road this Friday and Saturday, traveling to take on North Central and Northwestern.
