Box Score VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars (3-6) fell 78-67 on Friday night as the Valley City State Vikings (11-4) shot 51.9% on the night and hit nine three pointers in the win.
RJ Dean had a game team high 12 points for a Cougars team that was very balanced on the score sheet. Seven players had at least five points on the night.

The Cougars hit nearly 44% of their shots on the night but struggled from the foul line hitting just 7-17 from the stripe. The Vikings on the other hand were 13-16 from the stripe. Three Vikings had at least ten points on the night, which helped them overcome 16 turnovers on the night. UMM outrebounded the Vikings 11-6 on the offensive boards but could not overcome.
Dean finished the game 4-9 from the field and 2-5 from beyond the three point line.
Steve Birman had eight point and six rebounds off the bench.
Tyler Pendleton and
Jordan Gieske each had nine points off the bench for the Cougars as well.
Morris will be back in action Tuesday night as they take on Crown at 7:30 p.m. in their UMAC opener.
