Box Score MAYVILLE, N.D. – Minnesota Morris could not overcome a big difference at the free throw stripe in an 83-64 road lost to Mayville State. The Comets shot 16-18 from the line in the first half on their way to a 16 point first half lead. MSU had 15 more foul shots than the Cougars in the game and converted each one.
 
Both the Cougars and Comets shot 11-29 from the field in the first half but Mayville State had three more made three pointers and 13 more made foul shots to gain an advantage. 
Kayla Kraemer had seven points on 3-4 shooting in the first half to lead the team. 
Tori Holt had five points off the bench in the first half. MSU took a 42-26 lead in to the half time break.
 
In the second half both teams got into rhythm and shot over 40.0% from the field. 
Emily Auch had 10 second half points on 4-8 shooting from the field. Kramer added another seven and led the team with 14 points in the game. 
Abby Fragodt had seven rebounds and four points in the final 20 minutes. Unfortunately for the Cougars, the Comets shot extremely well and did not let the Cougars make a run.
 
Next up for Morris will be a home game against Presentation on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
