Knights Take Down Cougars

Box Score WAVERLY, Iowa – It was tough night for the Minnesota Morris Cougars (2-4) as they fell 76-26 on the road to Wartburg College (6-1). Tori Holt finished with seven points on 3-5 shooting on the night, one shy of her season high.

Wartburg was able to gain control early, holding the Cougars scoreless for the first six minutes and built up a 13-0 lead. Brooke Decker got Morris on the board 13 minutes into the game with a layup but the Knights did not let the Cougars get going offensively. Tori Holt had four of the Cougars first eight points as the freshman hit her open looks.

The Knights defense stymied the Cougars for most of the night and found themselves with a hot stroke offensively, shooting over 50.0% for the game. Wartburg also did a good job taking care of the ball, turning it over just eight times.

Minnesota Morris will now turn its attention to Wisconsin-Eau Claire for a 7 p.m. tip off tomorrow night.
