MORRIS, Minn. – Currently the Minnesota Morris Cougars (10-8, 4-4 UMAC) sit in a tie for fourth place in the UMAC, tied with St. Scholastica. This weekend provides a great chance to move up in the standings as they take on the top two teams in the conference; North Central (11-7, 6-2 UMAC) and Northwestern (14-5, 7-1 UMAC).

Minnesota Morris is coming off an 87-36 win over Crown on Tuesday which moved the Cougars to .500 in the UMAC. There are just six games remaining in the conference season as each team prepares to clinch a spot in the UMAC Tournament. The top four teams will reach the tournament, with a trip to the NCAA Tournament on the line.
The Cougars rank 11
th in the nation in three point field goal shooting hitting 40.9% of their shots from behind the arc; their 8.4 made three point shots rank 33
rd in the nation. Morris will look to continue that streak this weekend as they try and knock off the Rams and Eagles.
On Friday at 7:30 p.m. the Cougars will take on North Central in Minneapolis. The next day Morris will take on Northwestern in St. Paul at 5:00 p.m.
Balanced scoring has been the key for the Cougars over the last six games. There are six players that are averaging 8.6 points a game or more this season.
Steve Birman leads the way, averaging 12.6 points per game.
