Box Score MORRIS, Minn. – The Cougars (4-8, 1-0 UMAC) had their best game of the season in the UMAC opener, beating Crown College (1-9, 0-1 UMAC) 102-43. Morris shot over 54% in the game and had nine players with at least seven points on the night.
Maja Coomes led the way with 15 points which is a new career high for the sophomore.
In the opening 10 minutes of play the Cougars went on a 25-2 run to take control of the game. Morris did not look back the rest of the half, taking a 48-11 lead into the locker room. Minnesota Morris had 28 points in the paint and 28 bench points in the first half.
Brooke Decker had 11 first half points on 5-8 shooting.
Abby Fragodt had nine rebounds, seven defensively in the opening half as she and the Cougars held the Storm to just 5-33 shooting in the half. Second chance points were also important for the Cougars, converting 12 offensive rebounds into 15 points.
Minnesota Morris continued to roll in the second half increasing their lead to 45 with 15:28 left. Crown was unable to slow the Cougars down as lead grew over 50 and remained that way the rest of the game.
As a team, UMM hit a season high eight three pointers, Coomes was 3-3 herself from deep.

Kendra Wycoff each had 12 points and Decker finished with 11 points off the bench, making it four Cougars in double figures on Saturday. Morris would finish the game with 54 points in the paint and 64 bench points, both season highs.
Next weekend the Cougars will host St. Scholastica and Northland College.
