Cougars Hope to Keep Up Hot Shooting

MORRIS, Minn. – After a hot shooting weekend, earning the Cougars (8-6, 2-1 UMAC) a pair of UMAC victories, the focus now turns to a pair of road games. Morris will take on Northwestern (6-8, 3-0 UMAC) on Friday before battling North Central (6-6, 0-3 UMAC) on Saturday afternoon. WATCH LIVE vs Northwestern | WATCH LIVE vs Crown
 
Last weekend Morris shot over 54% in each victory, winning 77-64 over St. Scholastica and 81-41 against Northland. The team hit a season high 13 three pointers last Friday night. Currently six Cougars are averaging at least eight points per game.
 
Northwestern is off to a good start in the UMAC with three straight wins. They sit in first place with Crown College headed into this weekend. They have three players who are averaging over nine points per game this season. Nearly a third of their made baskets are from behind the arc, where they shoot the ball at 38.1%. Their top four scorers are all threats from three point range.
 
North Central ended a three game skid on Tuesday with a win over Crossroads College. On the year the Rams have had a pretty balanced scoring attack. Luke Chafin has led the team with 15.6 points per game and shoots 45.3% from the field. Their frontcourt tandem is averaging over 24 points per game and shoots over 60% from the field collectively.
