Box Score VALLEY CITY, N.D. - In their first game of the 2014 calendar year, the Cougars (2-8) lost 77-55 to Valley City State.
Kendra Wycoff had 16 points on 6-16 shooting on the afternoon.
Emily Auch had another solid game with 11 points and eight rebounds, including four offensive rebounds.

Abby Fragodt also had four offensive rebounds on the nigh on her way to 11 total rebounds.
Kayla Kraemer had six assists, a career high for the sophomore.

Valley City State came out on fire in the first half, shooting nearly 50.0% from the field. They were impressive from three as well hitting 5-14 from three in the first half. UMM struggled from the field in the opening 20 minutes shooting 5-24 in the half as the Vikings built up a 42-20 lead.
The Cougars battled tough in the second half matching the Vikings play. Minnesota Morris shot over 35% from the field, outshooting VCSU. Both the Cougars and Vikings would score 35 points in the second half. The Vikings used a 25-13 advantage in points off turnovers to gain control of the game on Saturday.

Morris will now travel to Aberdeen, S. D. to take on Presentation on Tuesday night. The game with the Saints will be the final pre-conference tune up for the Cougars prior to battling Crown.Â
