MORRIS, Minn. – With two games left until the Thanksgiving break the Cougars (1-2) will travel to Gustavus (2-0) this Saturday for a game at 1 p.m. Minnesota Morris is coming off a 94-52 win over Trinity Bible on Tuesday night in the P.E. Center.
Saturday will mark the third game against a MIAC opponent this season. The Cougars dropped a pair of contests last weekend to kick off their season. Last season UMM fell to Gustavus in Morris in their second game of the year.
The Gusties are 2-0 on the year with two wins against UMAC opponents. They beat Crown 81-31 and Martin Luther 75-48.
Through three games this season the Cougars are averaging 67.3 points per game while shooting 38.7% from the field. They also have accumulated 44 assists on the year on 79 made field goals.
Five Cougars are averaging at least eight points per game this season.
Kendra Wycoff is leading all scorers with 14.3 points per game.
Kayla Kraemer is off to a good start this year, averaging ten points per contest.
Kraemer averaged 8.7 points per game her freshman season as a two guard, she was forced into the point guard role last season which saw her scoring dip a little. However, her assists per game increased by nearly 50% last season. This season she is off to a hot shooting start, hitting 41.9% of her attempts. She is also averaging over three assists per game helping set up the Cougars offense.

Cori Becker and
Emily Auch are each contributing offensively as well. Holt is scoring 8.7 points per game. Off the bench Becker has 8.3 points per game, slightly ahead of Auch who is averaging 8.0 points per game.
Offensive rebounding has been a big part of the Cougars early season attack. They have a 49-31 advantage over their opponents on the offensive glass.
