MOORHEAD, Minn. – Concordia College (1-0) scored 53 first half points to beat Minnesota Morris (0-1) 92-65 on Saturday night. The Cobbers shot 60.5% in the first half while Morris was held to 37.0%.
CD Douglas led UMM in scoring on Saturday going 7-12 from the field to score 16 points.
Dylan Erickson added 13 points.
Ten different Cougars scored a point on the evening. Concordia scored the first ten points of the game and never looked back. The lead increased to 13 six minutes into the game. The largest Concordia lead came late in the first half when a layup gave them a 59-29 lead.
Morris hung with the Cobbers in the second half but it was not enough and they could not make a comeback. The game ended with the Cougars going on a 12-2 run, capped off by a pair of free throws by freshman
Jeffrey Halverson.
