MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (0-1) opened up the season with a 69-58 loss to Concordia College (1-0). Four Cougars finished in double figures, led by 
Tori Holt with 13. The other Cougars to score in double figures were all freshmen. 
Kendra Raths had 11 and both 
Elli Stevenson and Mauren Theisen each had ten. 
Morris shot the ball well in the first half, including 61.5% in the second quarter. The second half was a struggle for the Cougars. Morris was just 7-31 in the third quarter and 4-16 in the fourth quarter. The Cobbers were not much better in the second half, shooting just 7-24 in the third quarter and 12-34 in the second half overall. 
Concordia scored the first ten points of the game to gain the early advantage. Morris closed to within two but was down by five at the quarter break. A layup by Holt tied the game at 30 early in the second quarter. Morris' only lead of the game came at 36-35 midway through the second quarter. 
The Cobbers pushed their lead to 12 in the third quarter and Morris never recovered. Both teams finished with 16 bench points in the game.
