MORRIS, Minn. – Both the men's and women's basketball teams head to Ellendale, N.D. to take on Trinity Bible in a non-conference matchup. The Cougars are coming off season opening losses to Concordia-Moorhead. The double header starts at 6 p.m. with the women's game.
The women lost 69-58 to the Cobbers on Saturday. In the game the Cougars had three freshmen finish in double figures. This marked the first time since 2003 that a Cougar team had three freshman score in double figures in a single game.
Minnesota Morris is 13-0 all-time against Trinity Bible College. The Cougars have beaten the Lions by double figures in all but one meeting. The average margin of victory is 34.2 in 13 wins.
The men fell to Concordia 92-65 after a slow offensive start to the game. Morris came alive in the second half, hitting 50% from the field to score 37 points in the half. The Cougars finished the game 9-11 from the free throw line in the loss.
In 11 games with Trinity, Morris is undefeated, winning by an average of 27.4 points per game. The closest game with the Lions was an 85-74 win on January 26, 2010.
