MAYVILLE, N.D. – Minnesota Morris (4-4) dropped their second game to Mayville State this season losing 81-63 on Friday night. Morris was held to just 34.3% in the first half and could not recover from an 11 point deficit at the break. Four Comets scored in double figures on the evening. 
Mayville State used a 7-0 run in the first half to gain some separation from the Cougars. Morris got as close as three at 29-26 in the second quarter but it was not enough. The Comets put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring UMM 21-11 in the quarter to take a 21 point lead into the fourth quarter. 
Morris is off until December 29 when they will try to stop a two game losing streak against St. Ben's in the P.E. Center. 
GAME NOTES:Elli Stevenson led the Cougars with 14 points.
Kayla Kraemer had 10 points.
Kendra Raths has nine rebounds and six points.
Morris had 19 second chance points on 14 offensive rebounds.
The UMM bench outscored the Comets bench 21-2 on the night.
