MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (4-4) will play their final game in the 2015 calendar year tomorrow night against Saint Benedict (6-3) at 6 p.m. in the P.E. Center. The Cougars are looking for their first win over the Blazers in program history. Last season the Cougars fell 50-43 in St. Joseph to open up the 2014-15 campaign.
The Cougars have dropped two straight games, last falling to Mayville State ten days ago. The game with the Blazers is the start of a season long five game home stand.
Through eight games it has been easy to see the Cougars have got a lot of production from a young core of players. Additionally, the senior leaders have stepped up in key moments for UMM. This blend of young and experienced payers is something that needs to continue to mix if the Cougars want to take home another UMAC Championship in 2016.
Saint Ben's is 2-2 in MIAC play this season; they last played on December 12, falling 62-55 to Bethel. Three players are scoring over eight points per game for the Blazers. This season CSB is 3-0 against UMAC teams, picking up wins over Crown, Martin Luther and Wisconsin-Superior.
