Conference Play Begins with Crown

MORRIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars (2-2) open up UMAC play tomorrow afternoon against the Crown College Storm (1-5). The men will tip at 3 p.m. followed by the women shortly after. It is the third annual Ugly Sweater game where fans can win prizes for wearing their best/worst holiday themed sweater, sponsored by the Minnesota Morris Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
 
Last time vs Crown: Cougars beat Crown 101-69 in St. Bonifacius on Feb. 3, 2015. CD Douglas scored 16 points in the win.
 
-          Minnesota Morris is coming of an 80-74 win over Mayville State on Wednesday.
-          CD Douglas leads the Cougars with 17 points per game; he tied a career high with 23 points against the Comets.
-          Morris is looking for their second straight win in a UMAC opener and their fourth straight home UMAC opener. The last time the Cougars lost at home in their first conference game of the year was in 2012 against Bethany Lutheran.
-          Crown snapped a five game losing streak on Tuesday with a 111-91 win over Oak Hills Christian College.
-          During their five game losing streak to start the season Crown lost by an average of 20.8 points.
-          Crown has three players scoring in double figures this year; those three are also the team's leading rebounders.
 
Series History: Cougars lead 20-7. Crown has won three of last five meetings.
