MORRIS, Minn. - It was not pretty but Minnesota Morris (3-2) won comfortably, 75-58, over Crown College (0-6). The game featured 54 fouls and 56 turnovers combined. The Cougar defense held Crown to just 28.8% shooting in the game.
The game began with a 13-1 run for the Cougars in the opening 3:51. Crown would counter with a 9-2 run, thanks to seven points from Desiree Davis. The games momentum would swing back in the Cougars favor as Morris scored 27 of the games next 39 points to take a commanding 23 point lead just as the third quarter began.
The Storm did their best to make it a game late in the third quarter, going on a 15-2 run. Once the fourth quarter started Morris seemed found their offense once again. They would start the quarter on a 13-6 run to increase the lead to 16. Crown never got back in it and Morris earned the 17 point win
GAME NOTES:- Three Cougars finished in double figures, led by 13 points from senior Kayla Kraemer
- Tori Holt had her second double-double of the season, scoring ten points and grabbing ten rebounds.
- Elli Stevenson scored in double figures for the fifth straight game.
- She is the first freshman to score at least 10 points in her first five games in school history.
- 50 combined points scored off turnovers. (28 for UMM, 22 for Crown.
- Kendra Raths had a career high 11 rebounds to lead the Cougars.
