MORRIS, Minn. - Minnesota Morris will be playing for their sixth straight regular season UMAC Championship this weekend. Currently they hold a one game lead over Northwestern, whom they do battle with on Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. The game has been selected as the UMAC Game of the Week.
 
The Cougars can clinch the title outright with a win over the Eagles. If not, a win over North Central the following day would clinch at least a share of the title. Morris will be looking to wrap up the UMAC on Friday and win over Northwestern in order to secure the number one seed in the UMAC Tournament. If the two teams tie Northwestern holds the edge in a tiebreaker thanks to a better conference record on the road.
 
The last time these two teams met the Cougars won 62-47, pulling away from the Eagles in the second half. The UMM defense stole the show, forcing 25 turnovers and turning them into 30 points. Tori Holt led the team with 17 points offensively.
 
Morris leads the conference in points per game with 70.1; the Eagles are second averaging 64.4 per contest. The two teams are giving up about 60 points per game defensively.

• Kendra Wycoff has four 20 points game over the Cougars last seven.
• The defense is forcing 19.1 turnovers per contest, thanks to 8.7 steals per game.
• Tori Holt, Emily Auch and Kendra Wycoff are all averaging at least 10 points per game.
• Wycoff is now second all-time in UMAC history in made three point field goals with 261. She needs 22 more made field goals to crack the top ten in UMAC history in that category.
• Connor Lewis has a 2.64 assist-to-turnover ratio and averages 2.9 assists per game. She is .1 assists per game short of qualifying for the national assist-to-turnover rankings, but her 2.64 ratio would put her in the top ten in the nation.
