ASHLAND, Wis. – Minnesota Morris (11-10, 9-1 UMAC) rebounded with a big 75-36 win over Northland College (2-18, 0-10 UMAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Kendra Wycoff had 23 points in 23 minutes of play.
Tori Holt had her second straight double-double scoring 12 points and grabbing ten rebounds.
Emily Auch had 12 points and six rebounds.
Morris pressured the LumberJills on Saturday, forcing 28 turnovers and turning that into 27 points. Morris also controlled the paint scoring 28 points in the paint and 20 second chance points. The Cougars bench poured in 22 points on the afternoon.
It was a semi-slow start for both teams but the Cougars led by nine, 15-6, with 11:23 left in the first half. UMM pushed that lead all the way to 24 with 4:21 left, holding Northland to just three made field goals in the first 15:54 of the game. Wycoff hit a long range three just before the halftime buzzer and put UMM up 39-13 at the break.
Wycoff had 20 points in the first half alone, hitting 4-8 from behind the arc. Auch had six first half points and
Cori Becker came off the bench to score five points.
The Cougars would continue to roll in the second half, pushing their lead to 30 with 14 minutes to play. The lead grew to 38 midway through the half thanks to a jumper from
Kayla Kraemer.
Emily Leeb hit a three with 15 seconds remaining, giving UMM their largest lead of the day at 75-36 and that is where the game ended.
