MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (2-22, 0-4 UMAC) came close to stopping their losing streak but fell twice on Wednesday, losing 3-1 and 6-5. The Crown College Storm (8-17, 5-1 UMAC) won in extra innings in game one after the game was scoreless through six. In game two Crown came from behind for the one run victory.
The Cougars got a runner on both the first and second but a caught stealing would end the threat in both innings. Two more scoreless innings followed and the game was tied 0-0 headed to the fifth inning. Crown picked up a one out double followed by a walk and threatened to break the scoreless tie. Stevenson was able to induce a pair of fly ball outs to end the threat.
Autumn Mahoney was the first runner for either team to advance to third, doing so with a two out triple to left center. Unfortunately, she was stranded there and the game moved to the seventh inning.
The seventh started with a walk, passed ball, dropped pop fly and sac bunt, allowing the Storm to put runners on second and third with one out. Another dropped pop fly occurred loading the bases with one out. The Storm started the scoring by drawing a walk to go up 1-0. Stevenson was able to get a ground ball next, allowing the Cougars to get the runner out at home. The threat ended with a strikeout, giving the Cougars a chance to tie the game with just one run in the bottom of the seventh.
Minnesota Morris would rally in the seventh for a run and tie the game up.
Bret Hulett singled to start off the inning and moved to second on a sac bunt. After a pop-out
Erin Kvam pinch hit and delivered an RBI double, tying the game. Morris nearly ended it moments later but a fly ball to center hung up just long enough to be caught.
Crown was able to take advantage of another Cougar error in the eighth inning and scored a pair of runs to take the game 3-1.
A sac fly put the Storm up 1-0 in the top of the first but the Cougars would respond.
Magen Knickerbocker put Morris on the board with an RBI single to right center scoring

Meghan Pomeroy gave the Cougars a 3-1 lead with a two-run single.
Knickerbocker drove in another run in the bottom of the second with a fielder's choice. Crown drew within one with a two-run double in the top of the third. In the fifth the Storm tacked on two more runs to go up 5-4, their second lead of the game. They would tack on an insurance run in the sixth to go up 6-4. Minnesota Morris tried to rally in the sixth but came up just short.

Autumn Mahoney with a bunt to bring them within one at 6-5.
The Cougars would leave 11 runners in the second game of the day, as they could not take advantage of five errors by the Storm.
