ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – A seven run, sixth inning was enough to propel Minnesota Morris (11-26) past Crown College (15-22) on Tuesday afternoon. Five of the runs that scored in the inning were unearned as Morris took advantage of two Storm errors.
Autumn Mahoney was 2-4 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Crown struck first as Sofia Palacios blasted a three-run homer to right center in the first.
Alex Anderson got Morris on the board in the third inning thanks to a passed ball.

Gina Downie to cut the Storm's lead to just one. However, in the bottom of inning Crown got those two runs back thanks to an error and a wild pitch.
Bret Hulett picked up an RBI single in the fifth getting Morris within two. Palacios delivered again for Crown, this time hitting a two run homerun in the fifth to give the Storm a 7-3 lead.
Magen Knickerbocker started the rally in the sixth with a solo homer to left field.
Elli Stevenson scored on an error.
Autumn Mahoney again brought UMM within one, this time driving in
Alex Anderson with a bunt single.
Lacey Sullivan reached on an error and Downie scored to tie the game. A wild pitch allowed Mahoney to score and Morris led 8-7. Two more runs scored as Hulett and Knickerbocker picked up RBI singles to center field.
Mahoney's third RBI came in the seventh as Anderson scored on a sac bunt. Crown tried to rally in the bottom of the seventh but could only score once. The Storm would load the bases with two outs but Stevenson struck out the final batter to give Morris the three run victory.
Hulett and Knickerbocker each finished with three hits on Tuesday.
Maegan Anderson earned the win for UMM, her fourth of the season.
Minnesota Morris will now advance to play St. Scholastica on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the second game of the first day of the UMAC Tournament.
