SUPERIOR, Wis. - Minnesota Morris was tied on the road with UW-Superior late in the fourth quarter, but the defending UMAC champions pulled away and handed the Cougars a 67-57 setback Saturday in UMAC women's basketball action.
The Cougars held the Yellowjackets to just 37 percent shooting for the game, but had a hard time containing Hailey Kontny who scored a game-high 31 points.
Three Cougars scored in double figures led by
Kendra Raths who tallied 17. She was two rebounds shy of recording a double-double.
Abby Van Kempen scored 13 and Bailey miller added 10.
Minnesota Morris (1-8, 1-1 in UMAC) is off until next Saturday when they host St. Scholastica at 5 p.m. at Jim Gremmels Court.
