PLYMOUTH, Minn. - The Minnesota Morris softball team scored in double digits in all three games today at the North Central Dome Tournament in Plymouth.
Minnesota Morris 10, North Central 5
The Cougars scored five first-inning runs en route to the five-run victory.
Lacey Sullivan got things started with an RBI double and
Clare Hamer followed with an RBI triple. North Central cut it 6-5 after three innings, but the Cougars added insurance runs in the final three innings to preserve the win.
Autumn Mahoney, Sullivan, Hamer,
Morgan Mathews, and
Ruth Lee each collected two hits.
Finlandia 14, Minnesota Morris 10
The Cougars trailed 13-2 after 3 1/2 innings, but staged an eight-run fourth to get back into the contest. Hamer had another multi-hit game, this time with three.
Kallie Wycoff,
Becca Holland, and
Paige Dahlberg had two hits apiece. Hamer and Holland each knocked in two runs.
Minnesota Morris 15, Maranatha Baptist 1
The Cougars drew 13 walks in collected their largest margin of victory this season. Dahlberg went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and
Nicole Newham drove in three.
Play continues Friday at the NCU Dome Tournament.
