MORRIS, Minn. – Sophomore Dillon Haider hit seven 3-pointers and junior James Pendleton recorded a triple-double as the UMN Morris men's basketball team (2-3) defeated the Presentation Saints (1-7), 90-68, Tuesday night at the Cougar Sports Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Haider recorded the first points of the evening on a 3-pointer as the Cougars went on an 11-2 run to open the game.
- With 9:35 remaining in the first half, Kenneth Riley hit a 3-pointer to bring the Cougar lead to 21 points at 27-6.
- At the buzzer of the first half, Nick Peterson connected on a 3-pointer to give the Cougars a 42-29 lead heading into break.
- The Saints brought the game to within nine points at 49-40 with 15:42 to play in regulation, but the Cougars responded with an 11-0 run to take a 20-point lead.
- With 6:47 to go in the second half, Haider hit a 3-point to give the Cougars their largest lead of the game at 78-49.
NOTABLES
- Pendleton finished the evening with 16 points, 11 assists and 11 rebounds for a triple-double.
- Haider was 7-of-10 from 3-point range, and recorded 27 points on the night.
- Riley scored 15 points, while Ian Carlin had 10 points of his own.
- The Cougars finished the game shooting 15-of-37 from 3-point range.
- Haider's seven 3-pointers are the most since Noah Grove made seven on Jan. 28, 2017, against Bethany Lutheran.
