MORRIS, Minn. – James Pendleton had a shot at the buzzer for the win, but the UMN Morris men's basketball team (4-9, 1-4 UMAC) ended up falling 81-80 to St. Scholastica (6-8, 4-2 UMAC) Saturday afternoon at the Cougar Sports Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars were clicking early on as they jumped out to a 23-4 lead over the Saints just six minutes into the game.
- Scholastica then used the rest of the first-half to chip away at the Cougar lead as Minnesota Morris led 40-36 at halftime.
- The Saints took their first lead of the game at 47-46 with 16:53 to go in regulation.
- With 13:28 to play in the second-half, the Saints built their lead to 10 points at 61-51.
- The Cougars used a 19-9 run to tie things up at 70-all with 6:53 to play in regulation.
- Following a missed free throw from Cade Goggleye with seven seconds to go, the Cougars had a chance for the win at the buzzer.
- At the buzzer, Pendleton's shot fell short giving St. Scholastica the 81-80 victory.
