MORRIS, Minn. - The UMN Morris men's basketball team (6-14, 2-9 UMAC) dropped a 95-70 decision to Northwestern (15-6, 11-1 UMAC) Wednesday evening inside the Cougar Sports Center. Kenneth Riley led the Cougars with 12 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A pair of 3-pointers and a basket opened up the game on an 8-2 run for the Cougars.
- The Eagles then responded with a 17-4 run to take a 19-12 lead with 12:40 remaining in the opening half.
- Northwestern then slowly built their lead to 10 points before taking a 48-28 lead into the half.
- The Eagles then kept their distance from the Cougars in the second half en route to the 95-70 victory.
NOTABLES
- Along with his 12 points, Riley had four rebounds.
- The UMN Morris bench outscored the Northwestern bench, 30-23.
