The men’s track & field team had its best performances in the throws at the Gene Glader Classic.

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris faced a large and talented field on Saturday at the Gene Glader Classic hosted by Bethel University.

The throwers had the best day in the non-scored meet. A Cougar trio of Justin Robinson, Bryan Zepeda, and Cody Nye finished 2-3-4 in the shot put. Robinson was the runner-up in the event at 43-9.00 (13.33 meters). Zepeda and Nye had little to separate them as Zepeda was third at 42-4.00 (12.90 meters) and Nye was fourth at 42-3.50 (12.89 meters).

In the weight throw, Robinson also had the top finish for Minnesota Morris, taking third with a distance of 48-4.00 (14.73 meters). Luke Petersen was right behind him in fourth place with a PR of 47-9.75 (14.57 meters) that placed him sixth in program history for the event.

The Cougars only had a small contingent competing in track events on Saturday. The best finish in running events went to Grant Strukel with an eighth-place finish in the 800 Meters (2:13.32). Anthony Rozycki was 11th in the 3,000 Meter Run in 10:28.18.
