COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's track & field team finished as the runner-up to the College of Saint Benedict at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet on Saturday. The Cougars totaled 64 points on the afternoon.
Kim Peters was the top performer for Minnesota Morris on the day, finishing as the winner of both the long jump and the triple jump. Peters' distance of 15-6.75 (4.74m) topped a six-person field and was the 10th-best leap in program history. She added a winning distance of 30-10.25 (9.40m).
On the track,
Nibras Luqman was sixth in both the 60 Meter Dash (8.85 seconds) and the 200 Meter Dash (29.45 seconds). The Cougars occupied the third through sixth spots in the 400 Meter Dash with
Elizabeth Frias taking bronze in 1:08.58.
Maggie Landwer was fourth in 1:11.06,
Briahna Hensel was fifth in 1:12.79, and
Paige Diekmann was sixth in 1:13.05. In the 3,000 Meters,
Ilsa Hoaglund finished fourth in 12:16.92, while
Zoe Hoaglund was fifth in 12:28.62.
Top finishers for Minnesota Morris in other field events included a third-place finish for
Ellie Beckius in the high jump, clearing 4-7 (1.40m), an eighth-place finish for
Kassidy Siedow in the shot put with a distance of 28-7.75 (8.73m), and a sixth-place finish for
Jennifer Steinbring in the weight throw at 35-4.75 (10.79m).
Minnesota Morris will venture to Minneapolis on Feb. 4, taking part in the Gopher Classic starting at 11 a.m.
