COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's track & field team finished in sixth place behind three MIAC schools and a pair of NCAA Division II opponents on Saturday at the Saint John's Invitational. The Cougars finished the afternoon with 14 points.
On the track,
McKenna Langerud scored in a pair of events for the Cougars, finishing sixth in each race. Langerud recorded times of 2:40.57 in the 800 Meters and 5:48.76 in the mile. Other scorers for Minnesota Morris were
Amelia Lund in the 3,000 Meters (14:00.30) and both
Ilsa Hoaglund (21:03.92) and
Zoe Hoaglund (21:22.09) in the 5,000 Meters.
Maggie Landwer had the final points of the day for the Cougars with a sixth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 8-5.50 (2.58m).
Other top performers for Minnesota Morris on Saturday include
Nibras Luqman in the 60 Meter Dash (8.75) and 200 Meter Dash (29.45),
Elizabeth Frias in the 400 Meter Dash (1:05.50),
Ellie Beckius in the high jump (4-6.25, 1.38m),
Kim Peters in the long jump (14-8.75, 4.49m) and triple jump (29-10.75, 9.11m), and
Anna Briggs in the shot put (31-8.50, 9.66m) and weight throw (41-1, 12.52m).
The women's 4 x 200 Meter Relay also ran on Saturday for the Cougars and the team of
Paige Diekmann,
Grace Hambike,
Triniti Neuhart, and Frias combined for a 1:57.82 to finish seventh overall.
Minnesota Morris will compete at the Gene Glader Classic on Feb. 18 at Bethel University, the team's final meet before the 2023 UMAC Indoor Championships at the end of the month.
