Box Score LAKEVILLE, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's tennis team lost a UMAC battle to the University of Northwestern, 9-0, on Saturday. Originally scheduled to be played at UNW, weather-related issues forced the match indoors and the Cougars did not meet St. Olaf College as originally planned.
Starting the match with five, Minnesota Morris gifted Northwestern two points to start and a pair of 8-0 wins in doubles gave the Eagles a comfortable 4-0 lead.
In singles,
Matt Gearou lost at No. 1, 0-6, 2-6.
Clayton Klema fell at No. 2, 1-6, 0-6. At No. 3,
Will Marsan fell 1-6, 1-6.
Max Gmuender put up a good fight at No. 4 but lost, 2-6, 1-6. Finally,
Muthu Meenakshisundaram lost his No. 5 match, 0-6, 0-6.
Minnesota Morris is back at it tomorrow in Mankato, facing Bethany Lutheran College at 1:30 p.m.
