HOBART, Ind. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's swimming & diving team began their first-ever Liberal Arts Championships on Thursday with a third-place finish in the 800 Freestyle Relay.
The team of
John Gulon,
Josh Meixell,
John Slatinski, and
Louis Freeman combined for a time of 7:37.38 in the race, placing behind Illinois Institute of Technology and St. Ambrose University, but well ahead of Williams Baptist University.
For Gulon in the lead leg, his opening 200 Freestyle smashed his previous school record in the event as he posted a time of 1:44.35.
Minnesota Morris will be back at it on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. with preliminary swims in the 50 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, and 200 IM. Finals will follow on Thursday night beginning at 5:30 p.m.
