ST. PAUL, Minn. – University of Minnesota Morris senior guard
Pal Dak was named First Team All-UMAC and also as part of the UMAC All-Defensive Team as the conference office released postseason awards in men's basketball on Wednesday afternoon.
A starter in all 25 games and averaging over 30 minutes a contest, Dak, a product of Lincoln, Neb., finished as the second-leading scorer in the UMAC in 2023-24 with 17.6 points per game. In 14 UMAC contests, his numbers went up even more as he provided the Cougars with 19.3 points per game. Included in his big scoring numbers from the season were a 40-point outburst at Wartburg College and 31 points in a home victory over Augsburg University. Dak finished the year with 11 games of 20 or more points.
Dak was efficient on the offensive end in putting up his stats, shooting better than 47 percent from the field, better than 36 percent from beyond the arc, and 73 percent from the free-throw line. He also managed to nab 4.5 rebounds per game, finished third on the team with 47 assists on the year, and recorded a team-high 37 steals.
In addition to Dak's First Team recognition, the Cougars also had an individual winner of the UMAC Sportsmanship Award. Each year, the conference recognizes one individual from each program with this award. The winner from Minnesota Morris this season is senior
