NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The fourth day of the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic took the Cougar softball record to 4-8 as they fell to two tough opponents. In their first game of the day, the Cougars scored one run on Kenyon College, but overall had their scoring chances limited in a 9-1 defeat. Kenyon 9, Minnesota Morris 1 (5 innings)
Kenyon took the first inning by storm, scoring five runs and overwhelming the Cougars with timely hits and stolen bases. The Cougar defense held Kenyon at bay for the next two innings as

Olivia Losee off a
Sophie Diver RBI. Kenyon came out of its dry spell to score four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, again showing their speed with two stolen bases. The performance put the Owls up, 9-1, and Minnesota Morris was unable to extend the game further in the top half of the fifth.
The Cougars only managed one hit on the day from

Fairmont State 8, Minnesota Morris 0 (5 innings)
Fairmont State jumped out early in the game with a run in the first inning on an amazing effort that saw a runner score from second on a fly ball to left. The second inning is when the game was put out of reach. The Fighting Falcons had six hits and took advantage of two errors to plate five runs and take a 6-0 lead. In the fourth inning, the lead grew to 8-0 and once again Minnesota Morris was unable to extend the game in the fifth inning.
The only hit of the game for the Cougars came from Nichols on a single to center field.
