MORRIS, Minn. - For the past 23 seasons, men's basketball head coach
Paul Grove has stood on the sidelines coaching the Cougars to success. After being diagnosed with kidney cancer and undergoing surgery in November 2024, Coach Grove was a notably absent presence on the bench. Now cancer-free, he has made a triumphant return to the Cougars' bench, eager to lead his team once again.
The University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's basketball programs, in conjunction with Coaches vs. Cancer week, will honor Coach Grove and all those who have been affected by cancer February 1, 2025 with a "Cougars vs. Cancer" day. Both programs are set to play Northland College, with the men's game tipping off at 1pm and the women's game to follow at 2:45pm. The Minnesota Morris basketball programs ask their fans to wear white on Saturday to match both teams as they compete on the court.
