MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris cross country teams return to action after two weeks off as they compete at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship in Winthrop, Minn., on Saturday.

The men open the postseason with their 8k race at noon at the Winthrop Golf Course. The women follow at 1 p.m. with a 6k race.

The last meet the Cougars competed in was the Haunted Hustle on the Hill on Oct. 18 in Northfield, Minn. The men's team placed fifth and the women finished sixth.
Noah Johnson paced the men with a time of 30:51.1, and
Sylvia Pesch finished 15th with a time of 25:31.8.

At last season's UMAC Championships, the men placed fifth and the women finished sixth. Pesch led the women with a 19th-place finish, running the 6k in 26:21.7, and Johnson also recorded a 19th-place finish with a time of 29:01.6.

The men's team will have six athletes competing at this year's UMAC Championship: Johnson,
Daniel Decory,
Tyler Franke,
Ethan Koehler,
Ethan Lauritsen, and
Aidyn Yerkin.

On the women's side, Pesch,
Lindsey Hause,
Ava Miller,
Hannah Robertson,
Sydney Roy, and
Mary Watry will represent Minnesota Morris.
