Pesch Places Ninth in UMAC Championship

WINTHROP, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's cross country team finished fifth out of six teams at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon in Winthrop, Minn. Sylvia Pesch led the Cougars with her best finish of the season, placing ninth.
 
"I am so proud of the whole team-we had a ton of fun today and it showed in how we performed," said head coach Caroline Collet. "I'd like to thank all of our runners for making my first XC Conference meet with the Cougars one to remember!"
 
The University of Northwestern won the meet with 30 points. Ella Dufault of Crown College claimed the individual title with a time of 23:12.8 in the 6k race. The Cougars finished fifth overall, with Pesch running a personal best 24:19.6.
