ST. PAUL, Minn. – Maddy Grove of the University of Minnesota Morris women's basketball team was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Athlete of the Week for the period of Nov. 10–16, as announced Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Grove led the Cougars through a three-game week with 67 total points. The junior guard scored 21 points in the win over Macalester College, with 15 coming in the second half to spark a comeback. Her best performance of the week came against St. Catherine University, where she scored 28 points while shooting 9-for-13 from the field, 2-for-2 from behind the arc, and 8-for-9 at the free-throw line. She finished the week with 14 rebounds, eight steals, two assists, and two blocks. This marks Grove's sixth career honor and her first of the season.
The women's basketball team returns to action later today as they take on Trinity Bible College at 5:30 p.m.
