MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's swim and dive team fell to Morningside University 125-96 on Saturday afternoon in Morris, Minn.
Ethan Bad Heart Bull earned the Cougars' first win of the meet in the 1650-yard freestyle, posting a time of 19:35.41 and setting a new pool record. In the next event,
Ben Caron won the 200-yard freestyle, and
John Gulon followed with another first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
In the one-meter dive,
Riley McKenzie scored 159.05 points to win the event, with
Carson Jensen placing second. Morningside claimed the next several events before McKenzie ended the run with another victory, this time in the three-meter dive.
Dillon Thorstad won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.02, marking the team's final first-place finish of the day. To close out the meet, the relay team of Caron, Thorstad, Bad Heart Bull, and Gulon finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Cougars next compete at the Augie Invite on Dec. 4-6 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
