MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's basketball team will host two more games before the winter break, beginning with Oak Hills Christian College on Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by Trinity Bible College on Monday with a 7:15 p.m. tip.

Earlier this week, the Cougars fell to Concordia College, 83-69. Four Cougars reached double figures in the contest, with
Matt Thompson leading the way with 13 points.
LeRoy Staples-Fairbanks IV came off the bench to score 12, and
Kaden Pieper and
Carvin Fish each added 10. Fish also led the team with seven rebounds. This week, Fish was named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week after his 32-point performance against Martin Luther College.

This season, Thompson paces the Minnesota Morris offense with 167 total points, averaging 18.6 per game, with Fish close behind at 153 points and 17.0 per game. Pieper is also averaging double figures at 13.9 points per game with 125 total points.
Gustav Gunderson leads the team with 32 assists.

Defensively, Thompson leads the Cougars with 71 rebounds and has recorded three double-doubles to start the season. Pieper follows with 64 rebounds, and Fish rounds out the top three with 55. Pieper also leads the team with 14 steals, while Fish ranks third in the UMAC with eight blocks.

Oak Hills has opened the season 0-4, dropping its most recent game 89-57 to Bethany Lutheran College. The Wolfpack are led by Tyrecke Francois, who has scored 95 points through four games, while Lanygel McCracken leads the defense with 42 rebounds. This is the second matchup between the Cougars and Wolfpack this season. Minnesota Morris won the first meeting 70-61, with Pieper scoring 26 points.

Trinity Bible enters the weekend with a 5-6 overall record. This week, the Lions went 1-1, falling to Martin Luther College 65-61 before bouncing back with a 103-83 win over Spurgeon College. Jonathan Ogugua leads TBC with 219 points while shooting 44.6 percent from the field. Jordan Reeves has a team-high 77 rebounds. Minnesota Morris traveled to Trinity Bible earlier this season, earning a 78-51 victory. Thompson recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
