Women’s Swim and Dive Finish Day One of the Augie Invite

SIOUX FALL, S.D. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's swim and dive team wrapped up the opening day of the Augie Invite on Thursday in Sioux Falls, S.D.
 
The morning began with preliminary events. McKenna Falak had the top finish for the Cougars in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:35.68. In the following event, Rylie Wendt recorded the best UMM time in the 200-yard IM. Shannon Dougherty led Minnesota Morris in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.31.
 
In the evening, finals competition got underway. The team of Rhio Fay, Falak, Faith Hamm, and Dougherty finished 18th in the 200-yard freestyle relay to score the team's first points of the meet. To close out the day, Fay, Kaitlyn Mello, Sam Haaf, and Dougherty placed 21st to add to the team's total in the 400-yard medley relay.
 
The Cougars continue the meet tomorrow (Friday) at 9:30 a.m.
