RACINE, Wis. - After an incredible day in the pool for the University of Minnesota Morris women's swimming & diving program, the Cougars boast five trips to the podium and one broken school record, as well as lifetime and seasonal bests among many members of the team.
The first trip to the podium came from the relay of Lilly Radintz, Kennedy Olson, Faith Hamm, and Shannon Dougherty who swam a time of 1:40.76 in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay to take third place. Two Cougars found top finishes in the 50 Yard Freestyle to finish fifth and sixth in the event. Dougherty (5th) and Radintz (6th) swam times of 25.08 and 25.49 to earn their places on the podium.
Brynna York was the next Cougar to climb the podium, making the trip all the way to the first place platform. York posted a final score of 290.90 in 1 Meter Diving to earn Minnesota Morris' lone first place finish of the day.
McKenna Falak, chasing a school record that has held up since 2017, now holds the fastest time in the 500 Yard Freestyle at 5:22.78. Falak's performance in the race earned her third place and a trip to the podium.
The Cougars go back to work at the Liberal Arts Championships tomorrow (Feb. 13) at 9 AM.
